DiCaprio discusses peace with Israeli officials

Hello, it?s Tuesday, March 20, 2007. I?m Rebecca Field with a UPI entertainment update. An Israeli official is asking actor and activist Leonardo DiCaprio for help in the Middle East. People Magazine says Israel?s Vice Premier Shimon Peres met with DiCaprio in Tel Aviv last week to discuss how the actor could promote the peace process in the region. Peres is also requesting the actor continue campaigning for environmental protection. DiCaprio reportedly says he would do all he could to help. Actress Vanessa Williams is being honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. The ?Ugly Betty? co-star was joined by friends and family yesterday in Hollywood at a ceremony honoring her. Williams is also a Grammy nominated singer and was crowned Miss America in 1984. She?s appeared on Broadway and was nominated for a Tony Award in 2002 for the musical ?Into the Woods.? Model Naomi Campbell is reporting for duty. Yesterday, she began her 5 days of community service at a New York Sanitation garage. It?s part of her sentence for throwing a cell phone at her housekeeper. Campbell arrived for her first day in high fashion?black stiletto heels and a fitted jacket. But she traded them in for work boots, gloves and an orange vest. There?s a new movie in the works that?ll focus on former British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher. An entertainment magazine says the screenplay is being written and will tell the story of Thatcher?s decision to go to war against Argentina over the Falkland ?
