LOS ANGELES (KTLA) -- Authorities in Southern California are increasing patrols at potential terror targets following the news of Osbama bin Laden's killing.
Officials with Los Angeles World Airports, which operates Los Angeles International, Ontario International and Van Nuys airports, say all facilities are operating on a heightened alert. Los Angeles County sheriff Lee Baca says the department's emergency operations bureau has been placed "in an activated state."
"We're very vigilant in our airport, seaport and our transit system, which are the major targets. And then critical facilities that are in the county we've assessed, we've done threat assessments there," Baca told KTLA Sunday night.
Baca says he's mostly concerned about the county's transit system. He also says there is an alert system in place, which is directly related to information coming from federal officials.
